Warm, balmy weather, all the time in the world to relax, listen to the waves, eat a papaya... Fiji was wonderful. We stayed at a really great resort called the Pearl where there was nothing to worry about except what to order for lunch and dinner! Breakfast was a hot buffet with lots of options and endless, luscious papaya. Each night had a theme and on Fiji night there was an incredible performance after a classic Fijian dinner with dancers and singers with their war sticks and grass skirts. Activities were planned every day where you could do medicinal plant walks, learn to weave, coconut throwing and other things. Kayaks were free to use whenever you felt like it and we used those a lot. Brian found a reef far off shore where he rode some waves. Luckily he didn't flip out there cause later in the week he sank the kayak near the beach and realized he would have been in big trouble if that had happened out in the middle of the ocean!
Hammocks and cabanas lined the beach at the resort- the covered one was great if you managed to snag it. Even if it started to rain a little, you could still sit out and enjoy the sound of the waves and the breeze. It actually was pretty overcast most of the week, but even then, we managed to get burnt more than once. It was warm and relaxing and wonderful, so we weren't too worried about the lack of clear, blue skies.

Confused about how to make the timer on the camera work, but hey, it was a good picture of the bump! It was a pretty great trip and we wish we were back almost every day! Fiji's world class golf course was next to the resort, so we did go out to their driving range and hit some balls. Would have taken more photos except for the weather being a bit iffy. Who has time for photos when there are massages to be had!
