I saw this little wiener dog in a cute kids shop in town and decided to make him at home. It was so fast and honestly took about 15 minutes total to make. He still needs eyes and a nose, but can be retro minimalist for now.
What an adventure this couch has been! It was given to us by some friends and was originally a yellow mustard kind of colour, had a little bit of stain on it too from a sweet little toddler! Instead of buy a new couch I thought I'd have a go at reupholstering. I love a challenge at figuring out patterns and measurements. I found a great charcoal fabric and did a lot of back and forth fitting to make it nice and snug around the body. It just needed to get stapled on when we moved and it turned out the couch wouldn't fit up the stairwell to our new apartment! So many hours of work and we were going to have to leave it out on the fairway for someone to pick up. You know your husband loves you when he could go the easy route, but he figured out how to remove an arm and he and a friend sqeeeeezed it up and somehow got it into the apartment with the arm back in place by the time I got there!! Amazing. Brian works so hard and is so strong. Lifting things with the greatest of ease! I can't wait to showcase his work in the next month- he has been working nonstop to prepare for an upcoming show in Melbourne and has some beautiful work coming near to completion. We are all headed down to the opening in October at Lesley Kehoe Gallery. It will be completely amazing and so wonderful to have a vacation together as well! There's a Mexican restaurant we've already got our sights on. They'd better be ready for us!
