Powder!!!! Christmas kept coming with a week of blissful skiing and snowboarding for the Perritons, Bergens and Corrs at Powder Mountain. The week before we got there was record breaking snowfall so the snow was amazing. We skied for 5 days straight and loved every minute! Okay, there was an hour of snowboarding that I did not love... But I realized my mistake and switched back to skis quick enough. Brian rocked the snowboard. It was only his 4th time or so and by the end of the week he was carving these beautiful lines. So sexy!! Everyone but the littlest two and mom did some skiing- even Dad was out there every day with the rest of us. What a stud.

On Wednesday of that week it was a huge snow day. I thought about staying home, but am endlessly glad I didn't. There was so much snow that a lot of people had to ditch their cars and take the shuttles down the mountain that night. It snowed heavy all day, but wow- that was the deepest, most fluffy powder I have ever skied in my life!! Easily the most fun day of skiing ever. By the time you did a run and took the lift back up, your trails where completely covered over with fresh snow. And even with snow coming down like that, none of us were cold for a second that day. Unbelievable...

This shot was taken just before we got on a special rope tow, not for the faint of heart. You have to catch this long pole as it passes which has a small disc at the bottom that you're supposed to put between your legs while it hauls you away. Easy enough for a skiier, but pretty tricky for a snowboarder who has to be pulled sideways. You'll have to ask Brian how it went for him! What an awesome week. We packed 18 of us into a cabin right near the ski area. After a day of skiing we'd head to the outdoor hot tub, then home for dinner and games and some of Scott's homemade cheesecake. I love my family so much... It was awesome just to be together and have a great time.
