Buddha's Birthday

Last week was Buddha's birthday- his 2554th apparently. It's a big holiday in Korea and since we had the day off, we went to Seoul to see what kind of party they pulled together for him. There were dancing drummers and thousands of lanterns decorating this Buddhist Temple complex. They had booths where you could make stone rubbings and paper lotus flowers, and free spicy noodles for everyone! There was also an exhibition of rice paper sculpted lanterns that was beautiful.
