Belated

I'm a bit behind on a whole lot of blogging so thought I'd do a bit of a catch up. Starting with Brian's birthday! It was awesome- and way back in January! I was way too excited for a couple months for this surprise zoo adventure. I'm pretty sure he thought I was taking him golfing as I drove him far out of town with a blindfold on and all the fresh grass smells blowing in the window. We had this amazing one on one tour of the zoo and fed all the animals. It was completely amazing. Brian even got to name one of the monkeys- Javier (he's from South America).

Amidst all the moving we were preparing for, Brian put together a beautiful exhibition of work that was titled 'Of Silence and Light' that showed for a month at Canberra Glassworks. It was perfect timing as a culmination of all the hard work and development he has gained during his time in Australia and especially over the months before we left for Korea. It was also a great way to get friends together for one last hurrah before we took off.
And here we are in Seonghwan-eup, South Korea! Our town is famous for growing the bae, or Asian Pears. They are amazingly yummy. Here's an orchard on the lake walk to school- you can see our Booyoung Apartment complex across the way.
Booyoung is not only fun to say but we've got a nice 2 room apt on the main level. Here's the twin bed we had to share for our first month while the school deliberated whether or not to give us a queen.
I bought a bike online to get around on and had it shipped to me. Nice packing job!
There's a beautiful Buddhist Temple a short hike from where we live and we've done some great things since we've been here. It's been awesome to have my parents so close and do some fun things together. Here we are at the bubble show and 3D movie with mom and dad (Dad's taking the photo). I will miss them so so much when they go in 4 weeks!!

Korea is pretty funny at times, and there are already way more stories than I will ever be able to blog about, but I'll try! Yesterday was city election day and for a couple weeks the streets have been filled with little trucks with singing dancers and the electee's name being yelled around the streets. Here's one guy's mascot. We also passed this museum one day that I thought was funny- a museum dedicated to the chicken. The rest is just some extras- me and Brian at the YoYoMa concert, and some pics of Nathan's family visiting and his Bon Jovi cover, which was so awesome!!! I know how to upload my pictures to this computer now, so there should be more blogging to come.
